Finplast takes another step toward a greener future: Members of the EU-UNDP program to expand recycling capacity!

An investment in the circular economy and the region’s future

We are proud to announce that Finplast participated in and was successfully selected for the “SUPPORT PROGRAM FOR COMPANIES ENGAGED IN WASTE MANAGEMENT AND RECYCLING.” This valuable initiative is being carried out as part of the EU-UNDP Project “Facilitating an Inclusive Green Transition in the Republic of Moldova.”

On June 5, 2026, the European Union and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) announced the results of this joint effort aimed at supporting the country’s recycling infrastructure. Finplast is among the five recycling companies in the Republic of Moldova that will receive support of up to 85,000 euros each (from a total fund of 425,000 euros allocated to the program).

This funding will be supplemented by a contribution from our company and will take the form of new equipment, services, and specialized technical support. The funds will help us achieve the following key objectives:

  • The creation of new recycling facilities.

  • Modernizing and expanding our existing capabilities.

  • Implementation of modern technical solutions to reduce environmental impact.

  • The development of digital systems and IT solutions designed for efficient waste management.

Local Impact: Bălți and the Northern Region

As industry representatives emphasized during the project, this investment represents more than just the modernization of some equipment. It will allow us to expand our processing capacities and strengthen our essential contribution to the collection, recycling, and recovery of plastic waste, with a particular focus on the city of Bălți and the northern region of the Republic of Moldova.

We are honored to be part of this green transition and to actively contribute to creating new jobs, attracting investment, and, most importantly, protecting the environment for future generations.
